Fill the gap nights between bookings
A gap is a run of free nights between bookings or blocked dates that's too short to book under your stay rules. For example, with a 3-night minimum stay, a 2-night hole between two bookings can't be booked. Pricinger gives you two tools for these nights: a lower minimum stay, so guests can book them, and a price adjustment by gap length.
Let guests book short gaps
- Open the Pricing Dashboard, select your listing and go to the Customize tab.
- Select Stay Restrictions.
- Under Gap Minimum Stay, enter the shortest stay you'll accept in a gap.
- Choose how it applies, then select Save plan.
When a gap is too short for your regular Minimum Stay, the gap minimum stay takes over, and the minimum stay is never reduced below it. If you leave it empty, gap nights keep your regular minimum stay.
- Match gap length is the default. It requires a booking to fill the whole gap, so no nights are left stranded.
- Exact value accepts a booking as short as your gap minimum stay, even if that leaves a shorter gap behind.
Change the price of gap nights
- On the Customize tab, select Gap Price Adjustments.
- Select + Add a gap adjustment rule.
- Choose Decrease or Increase, then type the percentage and the gap length in nights.
- Add a rule for each gap length you want to reprice, then select Save plan.
A rule applies to every night of a gap of exactly that length, so a 2-night rule leaves 1-night and 3-night gaps alone. Gap nights without a matching rule are priced like any other night. You can go down by up to 90% or up by up to 100%, for gaps of up to 30 nights.
A discount can help fill a night that would otherwise stay empty. In a tight market, a short gap can be worth more, so an increase can make sense too. Either way, your minimum and maximum price apply to gap nights just as they do to any other night. See how to set your base, minimum and maximum prices.
Different rules for a season
Switch to Seasonal to set gap rules for part of the year. A seasonal rule replaces your annual rule for the same gap length, and annual rules for other lengths still apply. Choose No change to turn an annual rule off for that season.
